Loomio - a platform for community process
We are exploring Loomio as a tool for community process in setting up a community learning network. The network will start as an online entity, connecting learners of all ages with resources, mentors, activities and organizations that can support their process of self-directed learning. Individuals will direct their own learning and the group will make decisions democratically about any issues that effect or impact the whole group.
Democracy is not a spectator sport. The process of making decisions collectively is best learned by doing just that, from as young an age as possible. We have been given the tools to create a just society through collective action and responsibility. If we practice using them in all the facets of our lives, then the decisions we make, the paths we follow both collectively and individually will better reflect who we are.
